As part of the Ball Mill number three expansion project we have completed the concrete foundation and floor of the new mill maintenance building. We will complete construction of this building ImagesMore results in images
In this study a practical case of ball mill foundation is investigated to illustrate the approach and the dynamic behaviour of structure. The concrete mat foundation and piers are modelled by FEM
The mill foundation is often the largest monolithic concrete structure on a mine site - and it is also the element most likely to bring a concrete contractor unstuck.

Coloring types of admixtures are the pigments watercolor which form color in the finished concrete. The admixtures used to produce color should not affect the strength of concrete. General coloring admixtures are added to cement in a ball mill, then colored cement can be obtained which can be used for making colored concrete.
In order to ensure the smooth operation of the ball mill and reduce the harm to the building, it must be installed on the reinforced concrete foundation of 2.5-3 times as much as its weight and it should be far away from factory building foundation 40-50 mm.
The 24’ x 39.5’ Ball Mill The Copper Mountain ball mills are 7315 mm 24 feet in diameter and 12040 mm 39.5 feet long. They are overflow discharge ball mills with inside diameters of 7315 mm 24 feet and grinding lengths of 11887 mm 39 feet . Each Ball mill is also driven by two 8,500 horsepower ABB motors.
Gisborne erected and provided operators for an on-site concrete batch plant for the foundation work and overcame extreme weather conditions to enable large continuous concrete pours. Gisborne provided precise accuracy for installation of the large diameter SAG and Ball Mills.
Fimiston mill foundations – Mill and soil not shown for clarity. Red Dog Mine One of the more interesting projects that we have been involved with was the Red Dog Mine SAG mill foundations. The mills are supported on steel supports rather than concrete. The mills operated for many years without issue and then began to vibrate excessively.
